Foreclosed SalesThe National Association of Realtors data shows a marked decline in distressed property sales.  One of the reasons is a decrease in “Shadow Inventory”.

Shadow inventory is defined as the number of properties in the foreclosure or delinquency process.  Even after the foreclosure sale, banks don’t always immediately put the homes they now own on the market.  The overall trend is that there are far fewer “scary” properties in the pipeline!  Click on the graphic above to read more, but the main point is that distressed properties are declining, even though some of the looming shadow inventory will skew the numbers for awhile!
